In the Sierra de Tramuntana there are about 20 small municipalities, the regional capital being the city of Sóller. The landscape of the Tramuntana was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2011 due to its various ethnological elements: countless stone terraces, charcoal pits, lime kilns, Arab wells, Roman archaeological remains, endemic flora and fauna, … The main height is the Puig major that with its 1,440 meters of altitude is the highest mountain in Mallorca and the islands. Unfortunately, being an area enabled with a NATO military radar, it is not possible to access the top. It is followed by the Penyal des Migdia (1,382 m.) And the Puig de Massanella (1,365 m.), Whose peaks are usually covered with snow for a few weeks during winter. Incredible as it may seem, the Sierra de Tramuntana hides 54 peaks over a thousand meters high in its 90 km long and 20 km wide. Few European mountain ranges can boast of having so many peaks overlooking the sea in so little territory! Therefore, from Mallorca Walks we propose you to ascend some of the most emblematic peaks of the Sierra de Tramuntana accompanied by a mountain guide with international UIMLA qualification and extensive experience to accompany you for several days!
