Die mallorquinische Wildziege geh\u00f6rt zu von den ersten Tieren, die vor etwa 2.500 Jahren vom Menschen auf die Inseln gebracht wurden. Sie wiegen zwischen 30 und 50 kg, sind etwa 70 cm gro\u00df, haben einen leuchtend rotbraune Grundfarbe und sind schwarz an R\u00fccken und Beinen. Die M\u00e4nnchen sind gr\u00f6\u00dfer als die Weibchen und sie tragen B\u00e4rte. Sie haben stets H\u00f6rner, welche offen undspiralf\u00f6rmig sind bei den M\u00e4nnchen. Bogenf\u00f6rmig und kleiner sind sie bei den Weibchen.<\/p>\n

Das zarte Fleisch der Zicklein wird von J\u00e4gern hoch gesch\u00e4tzt. Die Jagd wird mit einem Gewehr oder etwas traditioneller mit Hunden und Lasso praktiziert, wodurch das Tier lebend gefangen werden kann.<\/p>\n

Derzeit ist die Wildziege aufgrund der \u00dcberbev\u00f6lkerung und des Mangels an nat\u00fcrlichen Raubtieren ein gro\u00dfes Problem und eine Plage f\u00fcr das mallorquinische \u00d6kosystem. Ein Gro\u00dfteil der W\u00e4lder der Sierra de Tramuntana befindet sich aufgrund ihres uners\u00e4ttlichen Appetits in einer st\u00e4ndigen Rezession. Heute sehen und finden wir nur die Pflanzen, die Wildziegen nicht fressen. Auf der anderen Seite f\u00fchren diese „Feuerwehrziegen“ eine Art von Waldreinigungsarbeiten durch, welche dazu dienen, m\u00f6gliche Waldbr\u00e4nde zu verhindern.<\/p>\n
