Der lateinische Name „Rosmarinus“ setzt sich aus dem griechischen „Rhops“ (Busch) und „Myrinos“ (Aroma) zusammen. Rosmarin ist im gesamten Mittelmeerraum verbreitet und kann in trockenen und armen B\u00f6den bis zu 2 m erreichen, insbesondere im Bereich von Dickicht und Unterholz. Es bl\u00fcht zweimal im Jahr im Fr\u00fchjahr und Herbst und seine Bl\u00fcten sind violett, weiss oder rosa. Es handelt sich um eine d\u00fcrreresistente Art und das typische Symbol f\u00fcr das mediterrane Klima.<\/p>\n

Es ist ein beliebtes Gew\u00fcrz der mediterranen K\u00fcche und eine der am h\u00e4ufigsten verwendeten Aromapflanzen in der K\u00fcche, da es intensive Aromen und Geschmacksstoffe sowohl f\u00fcr Fleisch als auch f\u00fcr Fisch, Salate und K\u00e4se aufweist.
